Is lithium worth it?

For people who dry camp or run a lot off battery, generally yes. For someone always on shore power, often not. We'll give you the honest version.

Do I need to change anything else if I switch to lithium?

Usually yes — the converter and any solar charge controller need settings that match lithium, or you'll shorten the life of an expensive battery.
